CommentsNot one single Messianic "Jew" is Jewish at all. They are all Gentiles posing as Jews in an attempt to deceive Jews into forsaking God. This is the new method, since 2,000 years of forced baptisms and burnings at the stake didn't do the trick. Evangelicals: Please get a life. (Who wants eternal life if they have to spend it with the likes of you?) If discovering the Jewish roots of your faith means committing spiritual genocide of Jews, return to the ignorance of your church fathers. Besides, the roots of Christianity are found in paganism more than Judaism. Your Lord just happened to be Jewish. We all know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan (i.e., messianic synagogues), don't we? Our Response Not one single Messianic "Jew" is Jewish at all. Apart from the fact that Yeshua, all of his disciples, and almost all of the original believers (who were called 'Christians' later in Corinth) in Yeshua were Jewish, what really makes this statement unbelievable is that there are too many documented cases of "full blown" Jewish people who have put their faith in Yeshua as the Messiah. We recommend the book "They Thought for Themselves", a compilation of stories by Sid Roth (www.messianicvision.org) of Jewish people from all walks of life and Jewish religious tradition who embraced Yeshua as the true Messiah--while remaining 100% Jewish! They are all Gentiles posing as Jews in an attempt to deceive Jews into forsaking God. A Jew does not forsake God by accepting Yeshua as the Messiah-- and believing in Jesus does not make one no longer a Jew; though I will never be a Jew GENETICALLY, I consider myself adopted into the lineage of Abraham by my relationship with the Jewish Messiah... and therefore I have more in common with Jewish culture and history than with any other Gentile identity or genetic group I may be a part of...In a similar way, just because a predominantly "Gentile" church has for over 1800 years repainted the picture of our faith, the Jewish religious leadership has at the same time clearly made it impossible for Jewish believers to remain "Jewish" if they believe in Yeshua as the Messiah. Name one teaching of Yeshua that will cause a person to forsake the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob... the most talented authorities of Scripture in Jesus' day could not... This is the new method, since 2,000 years of forced baptisms and burnings at the stake didn't do the trick. No... the message of salvation by faith is to the Jew first and the Gentile second... and any person (or group) who forced people to be baptized or burned people at the stake were not true disciples of the Lord Yeshua-- Yeshua wants voluntary lovers and His Father has promised Him a group of people who love Him like God the Father loves Him! For the 2000 years of Church history that included such treatment of the Jewish people, we apologize and ask forgiveness... and the Church at large needs to repent of its callousness. Evangelicals: Please get a life. (Who wants eternal life if they have to spend it with the likes of you?) Most evangelicals I would say do not welcome or understand the embracing of the Jewish roots of our faith... and most evangelicals I know put more reliance on their knowledge of the Bible than they do on their experience with the God of the Bible... I'm not sure what would make you lump us in this category-- though we don't deny that we believe in the message of salvation being preached to all who will hear-- your stereotype is obviously misplaced. Eternal life is based on who you know... namely whether you are in covenant relationship with God. We understand that Yeshua has provided the fulfillment of a covenant offer with God that can bring peace between God and man by our repentance and the remission of our sins and our FULL acceptance into His family as sons... I would welcome eternity with ANYONE who truly loves God with all of their heart, soul, and strength. This ultimately defines heaven: agreement with God.. not whether you agree or like ME. If you disagree with His Word, that issue you must take up with Him. The Jewish Scriptures clearly foretell the life, ministry, and events surrounding the person of Messiah-- Yeshua did not fulfill all of these prophecies at His first coming, but He will fulfill ALL of the remainder when He returns. The question you must ask is whether the evidence is compelling enough surrounding His first coming to support faith and belief that He is the true Messiah: we think the evidence is compelling and that the answer is YES! If discovering the Jewish roots of your faith means committing spiritual genocide of Jews, return to the ignorance of your church fathers. My dear brother, there may come a day when the ONLY people that a Jewish person can call their friend in THIS world and THIS generation will be a "Christian"... By you equating "genocide" with someone believing and giving their life to Yeshua as the Messiah, you perpetuate 1800 years of ignorance and hostility that was needlessly introduced by the rabbinical systems... and that was, yes, fueled by the ignorance of our "Gentile" church fathers...It is always easier to appeal to emotion over reason to win an argument... Hitler used it rather effectively and convinced millions of people that Jews were not really human as a result... I guess you could do the same to convince Jews that they can't really be Jews if they believe in Jesus. Let's be clear... genocide is murder and extermination of the Jewish race. It has no relation whatsoever to whether a Jew embraces Yeshua as the Messiah... no more than it does if a Gentile believer in Yeshua celebrates the Jewishness of their faith. Besides, the roots of Christianity are found in paganism more than Judaism. Your Lord just happened to be Jewish. It is interesting to note that the FIRST major decision of the "Christian" church was whether "Gentiles" could become "Christians" without embracing the customs and rituals of the Law of Moses that were not essential to covenant with God. The first decision was whether non-Jews could be Christians to start with! History has changed this.. obviously. Of truth, there are certainly compromises in the history of the Church that have involved the incorporation of very pagan ideas for the sake of assimilation-- mainly in the realm of the Catholic church. For me, my roots begin in the Garden of Eden with a fallen man named Adam (as do those of all humanity) and follow on to a man named Abraham... who God promised that through him and his SEED, ALL NATIONS would be blessed.. I study Jewish scripture, talk about the Law of Moses, celebrate the feasts of the Lord, and enjoy an eternal covenant with God all because of these "roots" and Abraham's SEED ... My Lord would not be "My Lord" if He WERE NOT Jewish... the only true Messiah the world knows of is the Jewish Messiah described in the Jewish Scriptures-- of whom it says he would be rejected by His own people (initially) but would become a Light to the Gentiles...
Read the Jewish Scriptures for yourself.. not a Rabbi's commentary on them. Yes, the Servant of the Lord, the Messiah, will and has brought forth justice to the Gentiles. What other Jewish Messiah do you know of that has known reproach, shame, and dishonor and who was rejected by His own people (the builders) and became a light to the Gentiles.. to be sought by them. I am living proof that there was a Jewish Messiah that was given as a light to the Gentiles. I as a Gentile have sought the Jewish Messiah. He is still, however, given as a banner and a "covenant to" the Jewish people. Think about it... My Lord could not be anything OTHER than a Jew... He is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah... He is the Seed of Jesse.. and He is the Son of David. The very fact that the name of the God of Abraham has been spread abroad to the Gentiles by the Jewish man we know as Jesus is one of the great proofs that He really was the Messiah...I worship the God of Abraham-- not Allah, Buddha, Hindu gods, or any other number of idols-- It is because of Jesus that the name of the God of Israel has been made great among the Gentiles! We all know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan (i.e., messianic synagogues), don't we? Yes and we also know that a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly, and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code... Woe to those who call evil good and good evil... that is true blasphemy.
